Bomb Exploded in front of a School in Bangkok

A foreign national was wounded when a bomb exploded in front of a school in Sukhumvit 71 Road on Tuesday afternoon. Police said the explosion happened around 2 pm outside Kasempithaya School in Soi Pridiphanomyong 31-33.

The foreigner lost both of his legs when the bomb detonated - and the telephone booth to which the bomb was placed was damaged. Eye witnesses said they saw a man who fled after the bomb was placed into the booth.

I feel sorry for the man who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. He might just be one of the backpackers who passed by the school and was unlucky enough to get hit.

Klong Ton and Phra Khanong intersections are currently closed down as officers investigate who is behind this attack.
