Salary increase for teachers

As a teacher albeit working overseas, reading the news about people in the academe world who might get the salary increase dream was seventh heaven. Public school teachers may jump from grade 11 or about P18,549.00 a month to grade 20 which is about P36,567.00 per month.

However, the dream can only turn into a possibility if the bill proposed by Sen. Trillanes will be granted. According to the senator, the bill is one way of paying tribute to the contribution of teachers in our youths' education.

The senator's bill will also enable the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to facilitate the smooth implementation of the salary increase as they make necessary adjustment.

The pay adjustment should be based on qualifications and tenure of the teachers and should not in anyway be prejudiced by any across the board adjustments, he added.

I thought that's cool. May this be implemented the soonest time possible.

Hopefully. Philippines needs teachers, what with millions of schoolchildren sharing a handful of teachers.
Yet, the money the teachers would receive wouldn't be enough due to high inflation rate:(

Exactly ate. This high inflation rate is what hinders our teachers and our people in general to enjoy their lives. But then again, it still is better to have the increase. Otherwise, they will be buried faster in the mud of debt.
