Thailand's first medal at the 2012 London Olympics

Thailand's Pimsiri Sirikaew won the country's first Olympic medal on Monday at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The 22 year old got the silver medal while Li Xueying won China's second weightlifting gold medal. The Chinese weightlifter stayed on top in both the snatch and the clean and jerk in the women's 58-kilogram category.

Yulia Kalina of Ukraine bagged the bronze medal that earned her a spot to stand on the Olympic podium. World champion Nastassia Novikava of Belarus ended up in seventh place.
