As expected, General Prayuth Chan-ocha of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) was nominated and unanimously voted Prime Minister by the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) with a 191-0 result today.
Of the 194 members present, 191 voted to approve the nomination without opposition. The three abstentions were the NLA president and the two vice-presidents.
The result of today's meeting will be forwarded to His Majesty the King for further endorsement.
